One moment of historical correction - religion did not "just tell us" the world was flat. There was an argument that had what was considered at the time a *rational basis.* The same with the belief that the sun revolved around the earth - a belief much older than Christianity.

Not trying to argue that religion is rational, just that if you are going to try to point out flaws in religious thinking, try to make sure you know your own facts.
